CLASS TIME TEACHING TIPS
ACTIVITIES INVOLVING REPETITION
Frequent repetition and review are part of memorizing Scripture. For example, have students participate in activities where they write verses on index cards to take home or make bookmarks.
USE MODERN TECHNOLOGY
Students can use their smart phones to record their own voices as they recite information from their Bible Challenge cards or their Bibles. Ask students to play their recordings throughout the day to help them memorize God’s Word.
LEARN HOW TO KEEP SCORE
HANDS-ON
ACTIVITIES
Have the students participate in hands-on activities. For example, have the students create salvation bracelets together. Use different color beads to represent the verses they will learn. Use the Bible Challenge game book for additional hands-on learning.
EMPHASIZE WORDS AND USE MOTIONS
Emphasize key words in the Bible Challenge material. For instance, Joshua 1:9 says, “Be strong.” Draw out the sound of the word “strong,” and use hand motions to depict the word “strong.” Students will pick up on the sounds in the verse making the verse easier to learn.
Have fun ideas for students to do at home as they study each week!
For example, have students write their Bible verses on sticky notes and post them places they will see every day.
